Temples. Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Judy and I pulled into the bus station in Siem Reap at 5:30 am. We were greeted by a friendly tuk tuk driver from our guesthouse who held up a sign with our names on it. We mentioned wanting to see the temples and he suggested we make a detour to Angkor Wat to see the sun rise. So we headed straight for the famous temple and watched the sun pulse big and orange into the sky.
We spent the rest of the day visiting temples, all of them showing signs of destruction from the Kmer Rouge communist regime era. Reconstruction is in progress on many of the temples but it will be a long time, if ever, before they are restored to their former glories.
I said a prayer for the cambodian people at Angkor Thom and was blessed by a buddhist nun.
